Pebble Beach art heist
Pebble Beach art heist
On September 25, 2009, Dr. Ralph Kennaugh and Angelo Amadio were away from their Pebble Beach home between the approximate hours of 12:00 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. Upon return, they discovered that their home had been burglarized. Tens of millions of dollars of significant works of fine art and correlating provenance had been stolen. The theft also included a computer and two wireless hard drives that were specifically used to back up all records, personal and business, including the provenance for all the artwork owned by Dr. Ralph Kennaugh and Angelo Amadio.
The purpose of this website is to provide images of the pieces that were stolen during the theft and to provide insight into what has occurred since the theft.
The majority of the photographs contained on this website are from negatives that the victims took prior to the digital age. In all, over 250,000 images were reviewed. The collection of negatives and photographs was only known to Dr. Ralph Kennaugh and Angelo Amadio. Other provenance proving both existence and authenticity has also been recovered. This provenance includes but is not limited to: past insurance riders, offers on various pieces of art, independent authentication, both expert and scientific, copies of payment, and transfers of ownership.
A reward of $5,000,000.00 is offered for recovery of the art. Please see the link above for details.
